I read slow...

I read slow. Always have. It doesn’t matter what speed reading course taken or any other helpful advice anyone thinks they have. I read slow. Slow. Like a children’s story read at bedtime, or the stories heard on the radios of old. In fact, that is precisely how my mind takes in the written word. It does not just see the words, but hears…, if only in my mind. I stumble upon words I cannot make out in sound, slowing things up even further. But don’t get me wrong, I love to read, even though I…See More

t – That’s Me

Some time ago, I fixed my computer monitor after I was told it was shot and I needed to buy a new one. Gave myself a lesson 101 in electronics, I did. That was fun and fulfilling. I am crafty, preferring to come up with my own things versus copying someone else or getting a kit. I enjoy painting but not on canvas. I enjoy yard-sale shopping, especially when I find something useful outside its original intended purpose.

What else do I like to do......? Hmmmmm... That is part of what I am discovering. I've spent so much of my life doing what everyone else wants to do, and mind you, I can enjoy lots of different things, but I have put my own wants and desires behind everyone else for a very long time.

I've not ever been to a winery though I would probably enjoy, at least certain ones, given the right aesthetics. City. Country. Window Shopping. Nature Viewing. Eating/Dining (I do enjoy a good little hole-in-the-wall). Arts - crafted and performing overall. I like taking pictures. Don’t know if you can call it photography or not. A professional photographer friend of mind refers to such as faux-tography. Not a big water sports person, nor fishing, really, though, if I were to get into fishing, I think it would be Fly Fishing. I like volleyball....a lot..., though have never played the same since I messed up my rotator cuff. I've actually been pondering getting into something like kick-boxing. I use to punch and kick a tetherball I had while growing up, and knowing I enjoyed that, I recently installed one in my back yard and yes, I do use it. I like horses and horseback riding but I am not a pro rider by any means. Hiking on wooded trails has always been good, though I would need to work up stamina for longer and higher endurance venturings. I’ve just started bike riding. I had the most amazing time doing a zip-line/adventure course recently. Pinball? Love it. I grew up playing Pinochle as well as Rummy and Spades, though rusty now. Would probably enjoy Bridge. Golf? Don't know. Never played before. Might like it. Might not. I enjoy many types of movies. “Shawshank Redemption” is one of my all time favorites as is “O’ Brother Where Art Thou.”

I am..... I am what? I am very outside the box in one hand and very enclosed in the other. I am eclectic by nature, enjoying many facets of the arts and overall wonders of life in the world.

I have my own thoughts and ideas; ponderings and perspectives, as do we all.  And oh yeah…… I like to write.

Niche Knack

I have a knack for labeling envelopes and can pack a car, or storage space quite efficiently, when it's called for. I also apparently have the uncanny ability of cleaning my plate better than anyone I know.   And I believe you may have seen my hand crafted spiders, made with pipe cleaners, peanuts and currently the fuzzy faux fur off the tushy of a stuffed…

Gamble Ramble

Brackets. Bingo. A day at the races. The office pool of lottery tickets, or co-workers guessing a date and weight of the birth of an unborn child. Can I make the jump across the creek? Beat the train at the crossing? Be the fastest draw come high noon? Stock Markets. Bank loans........ or those of loan-sharks. HA! Voting on an election candidate. Shall I try to cross the street with oncoming traffic? Should I try to stop the bully? Do I stand up for what I believe…
