People In Business

Growing Business Together

Just as I thought, the title brought you here to read this!  I am new to People In Business and would like to start a discussion about Insurance.  In my own opinion (not that it's worth more than 2 cents) people have a strong misconception about insurance.  When I started bringing up that I would be entering the insurance business I received responses like:

"It's a necessary evil" and "Oh, so you'll be the pushy guy, knocking on my door?"

I want to change that, I want people to say things like:

"My insurance agent is a Great Friend."  or  "My insurance agent is one of the most helpful people I know!"

So, I want people to tell me what they want in an insurance agent.  Use this discussion to provide your thought of your perfect insurance representative.

Thank you for reading!

I have never had a bad insurance experience. In 1992 my husband and I were looking to buy property in Monroe County in the bottoms. Thanks to our Belleville insurance agent we did not purchase because he pointed out that it was in the flood plain. We were new to the area and would have eventually figured out that it was a flood prone area but the information saved us a lot of time and trouble.

My other comment is that people don't realize how important renter's insurance is. Just because you don't "own" the structure does not mean that your personal items would be spared.
